How To Get Back With Your Ex And Reclaim Your Lost Happiness
If you’ve recently been dumped, you probably are thinking about how to get back with your ex. It’s only natural. Being dumped is the same thing as being rejected, and no one likes that.
We respond to it negatively as human beings. It’s a huge blow to our self-esteem, and we often become obsessed with reclaiming the one who rejected us. After all, we know we’re great people, and if we could just get our exes back, they’d see it, too!
Sometimes, the thought of getting back together with an ex can become all-consuming, occupying our every thought during the day and our dreams at night.
This is not healthy. Fortunately, there ARE much healthier ways of dealing with a break up, and you can even learn how to get back with your ex if you’re so inclined.
Taking constructive steps to control your life and thoughts is a much better way to deal with post-breakup depression than spending every night plotting how you’re going to run into her at the movie theater and steal her away from that new guy she’s seeing.
The first thing to remember is that if you want to get your ex back, you can’t seem like you’re desperate. Desperation is a turn-off, and can even freak some people out. That’s a sure way to make her move and not tell you her new address (or phone number).
The best way to not be desperate is to stay busy. You had friends once, remember? You used to hang out with the guys on Saturday nights, and usually had a great time. Recapture those moments! The more you spend your time doing things you enjoy, the less you’ll think about her.
Next, you really need to avoid all contact with her for at least a month after the break up.
Make her think you don’t care. This will intrigue her, because if she’s the one who broke up with you, she’ll be expecting you to be sitting at home pining after her, and she’ll be surprised when you don’t call or email her at least once.
When you DO contact her, keep the first contact brief, don’t talk about anything to do with your split, and make sure you tell her all about the fun you’ve been having. This will make you seem more interesting to her, which is what you want. It will probably also make her want to call you the next time, so she can figure out why you’re not miserable over losing her.
In learning how to get back with your ex, these are the first two critical steps. Your chances are greatly diminished if you fail to do these two things.
But everyone makes mistakes and even more so during a break up! Many people panic and do a lot of dumb things they wouldn’t normally do.
